The dinner a couple of weeks ago was a huge success. From numbers being ow just 2 weeks before the date some furious contacting by the committee managed to get the numbers up so that we had a great crowd and everyone enjoyed themselves. Our special guest speaker for the night Kerry O’Keeffe was hilarious and kept us all laughing madly for about 90 min. He managed to have a good dig at a few stalwarts and had some great insights into players of his era and his thoughts for the future of cricket. Everyone kept talking and catching up till late until they closed the doors on us.
Our long time Secretary Errol Gilbert was honoured with a framed Club shirt for his many year of dedication.
Many thanks to the committee that organised the night and especially to Steve Mulally for being a fantastic MC.

Life membership awarded to Rob Waugh
At the dinner, Rob Waugh was awarded life membership of the St John Bosco Youth Centre. Rob was nominated by both St John Bosco Youth Centre Cricket Club and Bosco Bulldogs Junior Rugby League club.
Rob has made a significant contribution to the Youth Centre through his involvement in both the rugby league and cricket sub-clubs.
Rob started out as a player for Bosco Rugby League in 1969. He played for eight years until 1976. Since 2002 he has been involved with coaching, managing and training Bosco rugby league and cricket teams.
In 2006 Rob coached the 16Bs cricket team to a premiership. In 2010 he coached the 16Bs rugby league team to a grand final.
Rob has also served on the committees of both clubs. He was a committee member of the cricket club between 2003 and 2011. He has served in the role of Assistant Secretary of the rugby league club. Rob also served as the child protection officer for both clubs and the Youth Centre.
Congratulations to Rob on receiving this honour.

The Annual General Meeting of the St John Bosco Cricket Club will be held at “The Clubhouse” in the Gym building on Woronora Rd at Boys Town Oval on Monday night 15th May 2017.
Please come along and provide input into how the club is run even if you aren’t inclined to stand for a position on the committee
The positions are:
- President
- Vice President
- Secretary
- Registrar
- Treasurer
- Gear Steward
- Men’s Secretary
- Men’s Treasurer
- General Committee members
We need some new blood on the committee as most of us don’t have children currently playing or we are Mens players so we need some junior parents to get involved.
Hope to see you there
